Prior to joining Grantbook, Nishan worked for two years at United Way Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox & Addington. As a Digital Experience Officer, Nishan oversaw their online platforms and worked with their database to conduct analysis as well as data management. He worked to improve and implement new features on their donor and granting platforms to improve their design, functionality, and accessibility.

Before this, Nishan worked briefly at Frontrunner Professional, where he provided Search Engine Marketing services to clients in the funeral home industry.

He attended the University of Waterloo, graduating from their co-op program in 2019 with a B.A. in Honours Economics and Honours Arts and Business.
