Stephen Lavery earned his MBA at McGill University and came to Grantbook with six-years-experience project managing and implementing Salesforce projects in a grant-making context.
He has dedicated his career to social impact. A former elementary school teacher, Stephen was introduced to grants management in 2013 when he joined Commonwealth Corporation. There, he spearheaded the transformation of the use of Salesforce for grant management, led ad-hoc cross-functional teams to make process improvements, and even managed a portfolio of workforce training grants. Stephen also led volunteers in teaching math to adults pursuing their high school equivalency exams (Hi-SET & GED) for six years with X-Cel Education and Boston Cares.
A desire to build a solid foundation of business skills and improve his French brought Stephen to Canada in 2019 to pursue an MBA at McGill University.
As Philanthropy Technology Project Manager, he leads grants management system implementation and implementation support projects across many platforms. As Fluxx People Lead, Stephen works closely with Grantbook’s Fluxx Implementation Specialists to provide coaching, mentorship, and overall support to the team.
Outside of work, he has recently picked up a photography hobby, works a little too hard at crafting the perfect Instagram posts for his dog Lucy (@canadaluce), and loves to travel.
